  • Marriage

It has been long since I posted on this blog. Reason: Marriage changes 🙂

I am now happily married to Akila.  Wow! that is perfect. But I have to take the time to thank all people who worked to make it a success.

My parents, Sister and brother in law my father’s friends, Anathu uncle, Kumar uncle, Raghu uncle, Ravi uncle, Subbaiah uncle, Velan uncle and their spouses in the alphabetical order and not in the order of importance. They all made sure that everything was well arranged.

Her parents, her relatives, Sathy uncle, Jayanthy aunty, Bharathi miss this list is too big  and so are her friends and family. All of them contributed to it.

Thank you all for your blessings.

Now it is more than 3 months of married life. I have made the adjustments to have a better work/life balance. I am becoming more and more responsible, so is my wife getting used to taking care of the house and family. Hoping to post more and regularly in the coming days.

  • Happy Married Life Soms and Aishwarya

Somasundaram weds Aishwarya, on a fine thursday morning. One more member in my friend’s circle is happily married. To a girl of his choice, his first love, the only wish he had for some time now.

Somasundaram – Met this guy during the second year of my college life at MIT. He was transferred from GCT, Coimbatore. He had the typical ‘Palam’ look in him. But he was ready to shed it the immediate instant he joined MIT. He could never speak more than a few sentences to any girl. No one ever imagined, he would fall madly in love someday, and never marry the same girl whom he loved.

Life is really a interesting piece of mystery! When it reveals itself, you are a bit surprised. And really we were, when he revealed that he was in love with his team mate at his company. She, Aishwarya was in the testing team, and Soms was in the development team. When he announced his love to us, we would comment, “Instead of fixing the bugs that she reported, you fixed her”. An interesting person, he was, the comedian of our gang, the rocker who never listened to Tamil songs, till he found his lady love.

I am reminded of the speech that Shahrukh Khan delivers in “Om Shanti Om”. “Happy Endings – If it is not happy, then it is not the end”. Here is one such really happy ending.

Wishing Soms and Aishwarya, all the wonderful things on earth. Let them be blessed and ever live happily. For all those who missed the marriage occasion, here are some of the moments.

  • Barath Sister's Marriage @ Tanjore

Last weekend, I and my college mates have been to Tanjore to attend, our friend Barath sister’s marriage. He had been to Australia to pursue his MBA degree and had turned up for the event. So we wanted it to be a get together after a long time. I was not able to board the bus on Friday night. So a group of 12 had travelled leaving me out to Tanjore.

During the day, Barath and others had been to the Big Temple @ Tanjore, Sivagangai Park and to movies ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ and ‘Vennila Kabadi Kulu’.

Myself, Srikanth and Sakthi took to travel on Saturday. Since it was an auspicious day on Sunday (Muhurtha Naal, when a lot of marriages and ceremonies take place), all buses towards Tanjore and other places were full. We didn’t have our tickets reserved. We waited from 9.30 pm till 11.30 pm without seats. Atlast, when all hopes of getting a decent bus was shattered, we got a AC bus to travel. God Save! Begin the journey.

We reached Tanjore at 6.30 am on Sunday. The marriage function was from 9.00 am to 10.30pm. ‘Long time no see’ wishes, curses for not coming on friday and welcome chats later, we were in the marriage. Lot of people had come to attend the marriage, most of them Barat’s relatives. After the marriage, the lunch was really a feast. Nearly 25 different items served on ‘Banana Leaf’. Great sumptous meal.

Then we relaxed a bit in the afternoon chatting with Barat, pulling each others legs. At 4 pm, we had tiffin. That was when we saw a group of small boys (school kids) playing in a ground nearby. Ratish, our captain wanted a bet match. Considering the fate of those small kids we chose to have a friendly match.

It was great fun, with us getting thrashed by them for runs and our players failing in all parts of the game. It was really like Chennai 28 team getting beaten up by the Beach Boys (Chennai 600028 movie). In the true spirit of the game, actually all our players played using left hand so that the kids could have all the fun.

Then we took to ‘TN07 AL 4777’ movie and then bucked ourself into SETC bus at 10.30 pm. One more trip to be frozen in memory. Really good time spent with friends after a very long time.
